Sandra - Contract Administration Officer
Sandra was always interested in law. Changing her career to become a contract administration officer has meant developing her passion for law, as well as enjoying a varied and interesting career.
Sandra has worked for the Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd for five years. She joined as a trainee contract administrator following a career in hospitality.
After spending one year as a trainee, Sandra was appointed to a full-time position and a year later was appointed as supervisor, a position she has held for three years. In her role as supervisor, Sandra coaches and monitors the training programmes of each trainee joining her team.
What drew me to working in contract administration
“It was an interest in the legal side that made this field of administration appeal to me. Over the years I’ve enjoyed the variety, and, in particular, the time pressures that come with constantly meeting deadlines.”
Career highlights
“I’m particularly proud of changes I’ve been able to make to the tendering process, something I would not have been able to achieve without support from my managers. It has been exciting to see the process move from paper to digital. I’ve also been very happy to see my section steadily grow in size.”
