The SVITZER purpose is to provide safety and support at sea.SVITZER is a global operator of tugs, both harbour and salvage, and vessels supporting the offshore industry.
SVITZER has been operating for 175 years and currently operates in excess of 600 vessels across 35 countries.

SVITZER is a member of the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group, a company that is a leader in the global maritime market, particularly in the operation of tankers, offshore oil rigs and support vessels, and container ships.
SVITZER Australasia is one of eight regions and three divisions within the SVITZER Group. The Australasian business has a number of distinct operations:
- Ships towage in 39 ports in Australia and an additional 7 ports in JV operations in the South Pacific (PNG and Fiji)
- Lines & mooring and other port services
- Marine Services to the oil and gas industry in both the offshore and near shore sectors of that industry. This involves the provision of workboats, crews and management services predominantly within Australia; and
- Ships bunkering and other miscellaneous port services.
Presently SVITZER Australasia has approximately 1000 employees split into 900 at sea and 100 on shore. The SVITZER Australasia fleet consists of about 160 vessels, of which about half are tugs.
