The Port of Brisbane offers a range of facilities and experience. You can experience the port close up with a tour of the port's facilities; call in at the Caltex truck stop to fill the car or purchase a magazine; or launch your boat at Whyte Island Boat Ramp, which has a shelter for picnics and a fish cleaning table. 

 

 

 

Visitors Centre

The Visitors Centre, which opened in 2002, is located over a picturesque lake on Whimbrel Street and offers a range of unique experiences for visitors to observe, explore and taste.

The Centre has an a la carte restaurant, casual style cafe, conference facilities and an interactive display area that describes the history and operation of the Port of Brisbane.

Port tours are very popular with over 14,100 people taking a tour during 2008/2009. Visits to the largest constructed shorebird roost on Australia's eastern seaboard, can also be organised through the Visitors Centre.

The cafe is a great place to relax after a port tour providing light meals, drinks and snacks at affordable prices. The Visitors Centre also offers a comprehensive range of conference facilities such as modern audiovisual technology for presentations and entertainment options. You can choose a menu from our side selection of set and buffet menus, or plan your own with the help of our catering team.

The Visitors Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9am-4pm. It is closed public holidays, and weekends.

Whyte Island Boat Ramp

The Whyte Island public boat ramp is the closest to the mouth of the Brisbane River and Moreton Bay. The boat ramp offers up to 50 parking spaces for car and trailers, and has a shelter for picnics, and fish cleaning tables for those who are lucky enough to catch something. The toilet has the ability to treat 100% of the water and sewerage into wastewater suitable for irrigation.

 

Convenience, ATM and car/truck wash

Looking for petrol, a cash point or magazines? Fast & Ezy at the Caltex service station/truck stop, offers all this and more.  With one quick stop you can purchase everything from fuel to a fantastic take-home meal.

Step outside and you can’t miss the automated car and truck washing facility.  The wash takes between 10 and 45 minutes, depending on the size of the vehicle.Currently open 6.00am to 6.00pm daily. Customers can phone ahead on 3895 2711 for an estimated waiting time.
