The Port of Brisbane offers some of the most prestigious lakes, parks and activities in town.

Our guides will take you for a one hour explorer bus tour that will blow your mind with interesting facts and figures. Our guides will explain how port operators import or export an average of 3,500 tonnes of cargo every hour.

 

 

 

Explorer’s Tours – public

Duration: 1 hour

Delve deep into the heart of Brisbane’s busy port by taking an Explorer tour.  This one hour long bus tour gives visitors an insight into how an efficient and environmentally sustainable port operates.  See towering container cranes loading and unloading ships; trucks and trains moving cargo across the port; and, learn from your tour guide about the many products which move in and out of the Port of Brisbane each day. Bookings are encouraged as seats are limited.  You can make a booking by ringing the Visitor Centre on 3258 4677.

Prices (including GST): Adults: $10  Seniors/Full time Students*: $8  Children (12 and under): $5 Family Pass (2 adults, 2 children): $27

Community / School tours

Why not make your next school or community excursion a tour of the Port of Brisbane?  You provide a bus and we provide a tour guide at no cost.  Tours can be catered to meet your interests, and begin with a guided tour of the display area.  Tours must be pre booked, with flexible times available.  We recommend you allow a minimum of one and a half hours for your visit.

Located on the doorstep of the Visitors Centre, alongside the beautiful lake, families and school groups are encouraged to relax and enjoy the abundant bird life and take stroll along the trail to a viewing platform.

 Bird Roost Port Brisbane

 

Shorebird Roost

The Port of Brisbane provides sanctuary for thousands of migratory shorebirds each year, some flying up to 25,000km during their annual migration. You can observe these special visitors at the 12ha purpose–build shorebird roost. The site features a pedestrian walkway, two hides and a viewing platform with a full disabled access. Entry to the site is free, and can be arranged by contacting the Visitors Centre on 3258 4677.

 

 

Interactive display

Get hands on and discover how fun the shipping industry is. You can wander through the static and interactive display area at the Visitors Centre, and learn about the operations of a working port. Best of all, it’s free.
