Picnic tables and scenic walk around the Lake
Located on the doorstep of the Visitors Centre, alongside the beautiful lake, families and school groups are encouraged to relax and enjoy the abundant bird life and take stroll along the trail to a viewing platform.

Shorebird Roost
The Port of Brisbane provides sanctuary for thousands of migratory shorebirds each year, some flying up to 25,000km during their annual migration. You can observe these special visitors at the 12ha purpose–build shorebird roost. The site features a pedestrian walkway, two hides and a viewing platform with a full disabled access. Entry to the site is free, and can be arranged by contacting the Visitors Centre on 3258 4677.

Interactive display
Get hands on and discover how fun the shipping industry is. You can wander through the static and interactive display area at the Visitors Centre, and learn about the operations of a working port. Best of all, it’s free.
